Wight Challenge September 2011

For the second year running ermc’s stalwart trio, Chris Chatwin, Simon Denness and Rob Aubrey, took part in the September ‘Wight Challenge’ charity fund raising event, this year in aid of Wessex Heartbeat.

A gruelling 18 mile off road bike ride, 3 mile canoe race and an 8 mile cross country run saw the ‘Three Lions’ team successfully completing the course in 3 hrs 45mins. Although Rob managed to pick up 2 punctures along the way, the lads still came in at a very respectable 19th place out of a field of 46 teams and raised over 300 pounds in sponsorship monies.
